8 March 2007 - Ireland Group Meeting - 8 March 2007
Third Meeting of the RMS Ireland Group, 8 March 2007, Cork
In keeping with successful meetings in Belfast and Dublin in 2006, the Records Management Society Ireland Group attracted 120 records managers and practitioners to its third meeting in Cork on 8 March 2007. Delegates from north and south were welcomed to the Millennium Hall by the Lord Mayor of Cork.
The theme of the meeting was Good Records-Good Management and presentations emphasised the role of records management in complying with data protection requirements, and the rights of patients and users accessing social services.
The afternoon session was a short demonstration of Trim Context, Tower Software?s EDRMS followed by a user?s perspective on Trim.
Delegates felt that membership of the RMS and attendance at events provided a valuable opportunity to meet with colleagues to exchange ideas and share experiences.
Future themes for RMS Ireland Group meetings will be the fundamentals of Records Management (file plans, retention schedules, managing off-site storage) as well as issues such as legislation and EDRMS.
