The SharePoint Tart aka Michele Noad took to the road last week to tout her SharePoint wares. SharePoint is a hot topic and one Michele loves! Perhaps it is because it can potentially offer a solution for records management with the additional benefit of enhanced collaboration.
With budgets coming under increased pressure, the value of SharePoint is that most organisations already have it as part of their Enterprise Agreement. Exploiting the potential of SharePoint is something that IRMS members seem to want find out about, and everyone is keen to learn from each other.
So with this in mind, Michele headed north to the IRMS Scotland event in Glasgow on 09 March, where she received a very warm Scottish welcome. A presentation and a workshop on how to build a business case for an IM programme was well received, but the icing on the cake was the outstandingly beautiful building in which the event was held - the Glasgow City Council Chambers are a sight to behold.
Michele then headed south to Bath in the Southwest before getting up at the crack of dawn and driving through the beautiful Brecon Beacons for IRMS Wales - but Welsh cakes washed down with plenty of tea and enthusiasm was worth the 4-hour drive to get to Aberystwyth. And what a great group! They threw themselves into the workshop element of the SharePoint presentation and really enjoyed the session.
Two hours later Michele was back on the road, heading south this time to Taunton. She rounded off the week by meeting the ICO at Somerset County Council to discuss the IM Transformation Programme she is currently delivering. Michele is tireless in promoting records and information management, so watch out – she could appear at an IRMS group near you.
