Announcing the Results of the 2017 Salary Survey
The IRMS is delighted to support this year's TFPL and Sue Hill Knowledge and Information Management Salary Survey - and we can now reveal the results!*
The survey not only profiles the salaries (in London and in the rest of the UK) for various job titles in libraries, archives, records management and information governance, across numerous industrial sectors, but also looks at the key skills required by those in these fields to 'future-proof' themselves in these changing times.
Employee benefits, routes into the profession, qualifications, and membership of professional associations are also featured, and there's a closing article from Gemma Wood, Marketing Manager at Sue Hill Recruitment, about the concept of employer branding.
* Please note you'll need to be an IRMS member and signed in to the website to view the Salary Survey results.
Scott Sammons, Chair of the IRMS, says:
"After a dramatic year in 2016 and with no obvious end to the upheaval, the information and records management sector is likely to see a lot of roles and responsibilities changing, especially as current practices are brought into line with GDPR requirements.
"We're delighted to have supported this survey and hope it will be a useful resource for both IRMS members and the wider knowledge and information management community.
"In this evolving landscape, next year’s survey may well paint a very different picture and I confidently predict that the value of our profession will continue to grow in the years to come."
Suzanne Wheatley, Manager at Sue Hill & TFPL, adds:
“We’re delighted to be partnering with the IRMS for this, our third annual Salary Survey. This year we’ve included an enhanced range of job roles and industries which hopefully makes it our most comprehensive yet!
"I for one will certainly be asking Scott to autograph my copy when we launch it at the IRMS Conference in Glasgow!”
