IRMS Groups Events Autumn 2016
There are a number of IRMS Groups events coming up in the next few weeks – details below.
Thursday 29 September, 5:30pm-8:00pm
OFWAT, Bloomsbury Street, London
IRMS London is pleased to welcome David Ryan, a Director in Information Assurance, who will be proposing some exciting thoughts and ideas on what Information Management will look like in the future. In the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare's death, and using a selection of well-known quotes from his work, he will reflect on what the next few years might bring to the world of information management, from holographic user interfaces to the real possibilities of a data driven workplace, and put forward some approaches for responding to these challenges.
Friday 07 October, 9:30am-3:30pm
Westminster Archives, St Ann’s Street, London
We are delighted to welcome Naomi Jane, Laura Bailey and Alison North as the speakers for our next event, for which the theme is ‘Awareness’. In order for our organisations to benefit from our skills and the work that we do, we need an understanding of 3 different types of awareness: self-awareness, technology awareness and professional & business awareness. The event will culminate in a roundtable discussion between speakers and attendees. Sponsored by AN Information Limited.
Friday 28 October, 9:30am-4:30pm
New Register House, West Register Street, Edinburgh
Following on from the last event to promote IRM and re-branding the records manager to #lookthepart, we are now offering a day dedicated to you and your development to #bethepart. Our recent survey highlighted an interest in finding out more about CPD and accreditation so we’ve put together a fantastic line-up of speakers to tell you all about what’s on offer, including Alan Bell from Dundee, Fionnuala Cousins from RGU, and Martin Halvey from Strathclyde, as well as representatives from IRMS and CILIP to discuss the benefits of personal accreditation.
Monday 07 November, 9:00am-3:00pm
Junction 24, Market Way, Bridgwater
The 2Ms are delighted to announce the next SPPG event in collaboration with the IRMS South West Group. Presenters for the day include Melody and Michele, Andrea Binding and Darren Cole from Somerset Council, Marek Samaj from Microsoft, and Michael Willis from the Northern Ireland Local Government Policy Commission. As an extra treat, the SharePoint loose women (and men) will be holding a SharePoint Agony Panel where you can bring your SharePoint issues (good and bad) to the table for discussion. Sponsored by Automated Intelligence.
And that’s not all – watch this space for more events being announced in the coming weeks!
