In a recent informal survey to professionals our Training Director, Paul Duller, collated suggestions from IRM professionals to collate top online IRM resources for 2013. Our thanks go to all those that contributed and below are some top useful sites as suggested by you;
1) http://www.britishrecordsassociation.org.uk/pages/guide2.htm British Records Association (no, I hadn’t heard of it either) Glossary of Archival terms.
2) http://www.interpares.org/ip2/ip2_terminology_db.cfm A terminology database from the multi-million dollar international InterPARES 2 project. This page contains a clickable glossary (on the left), a PDF version of it (glossary) and the staggeringly comprehensive “dictionary” (83 pages – read it and weep).
3) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Records_management - Wikipedia's growing section on Records Management (feel free to contribute)
4) http://www.irmstrategies.com/links/rmrl.html - Famous US resource created by Alan Zaben that is becoming more and more out of date over time. Still serves as a useful framework but lots of dead links. Perhaps our friends in the USA will resurrect this and clean up the links?
