IICSA Inquiry Working Group
There is currently an independent inquiry underway, let by Hon. Lowell Goddard DNZM, into child sexual abuse which will investigate whether public bodies and other non-state institutions have taken seriously their duty of care to protect children from sexual abuse in England and Wales. Part of that enquiry is looking into what records were kept (if any) and the standards in place to protect those records.
The IRMS has therefore pulled together a working group to work with the enquiry to provide guidance and support on IRM related issues including advising on any recommendations that may or may not come out of the inquiry.
The Group is headed by prominent local authority records managers Craig Ferguson and Madi McAllister. It is currently in the process of initial set-up. Further information, including contact details, will be issued over the next few weeks.
The Society offers four types of membership, from Corporate through to Student.
If you are not already a member and would like to join the Society, or if you know anyone who would be interested in joining, please complete the application form.
