We are a small, friendly, group of professionals working in further and higher education institutions across the UK and further afield. Our members include information and records managers, information rights request managers, data protection officers and others working in allied areas.
Group events are added to the events calendar and shared with members by email. Events include informal experience-sharing and networking opportunities as well as occasional webinars. Group meetings are held online, using Microsoft Teams. However, any group members attending the annual IRMS Conference are encouraged to seek one another out, especially at the Conference Fringe at the start of conference.
In 2024/25, group members were part of an award-winning cross-sector team led by Jisc, which revised and updated the Jisc Records Retention Management guidance. The guidance comprises the HE/FE Business Classification Scheme (BCS) and Records Retention Schedule (RRS) – essential resources for the sector for over 20 years.
