2019 Membership Director Election

As a result of the 2019 Executive Nominations process, 2 candidates have confirmed that they wish to run for the role of Membership Director. In accordance with the IRMS Constitution, we are therefore running an election to decide who the successful candidate should be. 

How it works:

From 4th March 2019 all IRMS members can cast their vote in the election for a Membership Director. Members therefore can review this webpage to find out more about each candidate and then cast their vote online for their preferred candidate. 

The vote closes on 20th March 2019 at which point the votes cast will be counted and verified. Once confirmed the successful candidate will be announced and they will be appointed to the role as of the AGM in May 2019. 

Candidates can canvass members via SocialLink and personal social media to promote engagement and support for their candidacy. Candidates have also completed a survey of their history, vision for the role and any declared interests to help members decide. 

If either candidate acts in any way that would be considered a breach of the IRMS Constitution, Standing Orders or any of the Society's policies or standards their candidacy may be voided. 

The Membership Director role:

The role is a Director of the IRMS. Directors are typically responsible for a specific area of the running of the Society in order to support the role and responsibilities of the Constitutional Officers. 

This Director post has the specific remit of supporting the development and operation of the IRMS Membership. They are charged with ensuring our offering remains fit for purpose and support the ongoing management of it for our current 1000+ membership. 

Meet the candidates:
Katharine Stevenson

Katharine Stevenson is Vice President in the Global Information Management team at the Financial Services Firm JPMorgan. She is responsible for providing Governance and Oversight of Records Management across the firm globally.

Prior to JPMorgan, Katharine worked for Lloyds Banking Group as Records Manager for the Commercial Banking Division, responsible for the Strategy and oversight of Records Management compliance by the business. Other previous roles include Head of Information and Records Management at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman; Assistant Records Manager at the House of Lords; and various records and archives roles at the Royal Household, where she started out her career in Records Management.

Katharine has an MSc in Records Management from the University of Northumbria, was awarded IRMS Accreditation in 2016, and has completed the BCS/ISEB certificate in Data Protection, and Chartered Institute of IT certificate in Information Security Management Principles. Katharine was previously an IRMS London Chair for the London region.

Shona Dunning

Shona has worked in the information and records management sector for over 17 years working mostly within the public and higher education sectors. She has been an active member of the IRMS for over 20 years joining as a student while studying Information Management in Edinburgh.

Shona has helped on the committees of both the Scotland and South West groups and then joined the IRMS Executive Committee in 2010.

Shona became an Accredited member of the IRMS in 2015 and in 2017 was greatly honoured to be presented with a Fellowship of the IRMS.

Outside of work Shona has varied interests including crochet, CrossFit, cakes, Tai Chi and is presently working towards gaining her hot air balloon pilots licence.

Once you click to finish voting your vote will have been submitted and no further action is required from you. Remember, the deadline is Wednesday 20th March 2019.
