IRMS19: Information Governance – The Quest for Truth and Trust

Programme overview
In 2019 the theme was “Information Governance – the Quest for Truth and Trust”. Now that GDPR is live, trust in how personal data is handled is even more important. At the same time information and records managers have long sought to be the keepers of informational and evidential truth for organisations.
Over three information-packed days, we looked at:
1) Law & Regulation
Keeping up to date with information law, looking at data subject rights, understanding the impact of Brexit and discussing privacy and ethics.
2) RM Nuts & Bolts
How to implement information and records management best practices in areas such as taxonomies and ontologies, archival skills, implementing retention and disposition, and managing digital records.
3) Soft Skills
Skills and knowledge for the information and records management professional, including aspects such as career development, leadership, communication and documentation, team work, project management, change management and problem solving.
4) Technology & Innovation
Keeping up to date with O365/SharePoint and learning how new technological innovations can impact and support information and records management, including for example blockchain, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
5) Deployment of Solutions
Case studies from our vendor community on many aspects of information and records management.
Through an information-packed programme of keynotes, workshops, case studies and interactive discussions, delegates have emerged from the IRMS Conference with valuable new allies and a comprehensive briefing on the challenges ahead.
