As a Data Protection Officer (DPO) and/or Information Governance/Management professional, risk is a key part of our role and our profession. We often receive training in other ‘soft skills’ but very little on how to manage information risk. In this session
we’ll explore how risk fits into the Data Protection world, some of things we are required to do as a DPO and also the limitations on our role as a DPO. From the basics of risk through to some of the common challenges and issues that come up, we shall
immerse ourselves in the dark and mysterious art that is Risk Management.
Join Scott Sammons, Master Jedi of Information Risk and Data Protection Practitioner from Lighthouse IG and Emily Overton, IRMS Information Rights Group Chair for an hour of geekery.
Knowledge Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Note: The conference team have allowed the information rights group only to have a group online event during the meeting embargo as the topic is nothing to do with the conference itself.
