The following companies provide discounts to IRMS members for their Information and Records Management courses and events: 

New Data Protection Qualifications from Tkm

The IRMS is pleased to announce that members can now enjoy a 10% discount on three new data protection qualifications provided by Tkm Consulting. All courses are approved and certified by the SQA, one of the UK’s qualification regulators, and more details about all of the courses detailed below and how to book your place are available via their website: www.tkmconsulting.co.uk

There are 3 qualifications:

Certificate in Data Protection Compliance – a one day course designed to enable those attending to develop a basic knowledge of data protection legislation that they are able to apply to simple, common scenarios.  This course is assessed by a one hour multiple choice exam sat at the end of the day.

This Certificate costs £425 + VAT, but IRMS members get a 10% discount when quoting code Tkm10IRMS. Upcoming course dates are as follows:

Tue 09 October 2018: Glasgow – Holiday Inn, Glasgow Airport
Tue 08 January 2019: London – Holiday Inn, Gatwick Airport

Certificate in Managing Data Protection Compliance – a 5 day course designed to enable those attending to develop the knowledge required to apply the requirements of data protection legislation in different environments. On successful completion of the qualification, those attending will be able to demonstrate competencies in implementing data protection legislation in a range of complex scenarios, as well as understand and apply best practice set out by codes of practice. They will also be able to demonstrate competencies required to delivery compliance programmes and manage aspects of information governance.  This course is assessed by a one hour multiple choice exam sat during the course, as well as a 2.5 hour extended-answer exam a few weeks following course delivery.

Diploma in Managing Data Protection Compliance – this qualification is designed to enable those attending to develop the knowledge required to apply the requirements of data protection legislation to complex environments. On successful completion of the qualification, those attending will be able to demonstrate competencies in assessing and evaluating levels of compliance together with the risks of non-compliance within the context of their workplaces, and developing prioritised implementation plans. This course has the same delivery and assessments as the Certificate in Managing Data Protection Compliance, with the diploma being awarded on the successful completion of a work-based assignment.

This Certificate costs £1,950 + VAT while the Diploma costs £2,275 + VAT, but IRMS members get a 10% discount when quoting code Tkm10IRMS. Upcoming course dates are as follows:

Mon 10 – Fri 14 September 2018: Glasgow – Holiday Inn, Glasgow Airport (assessment: 10 October 2018)

Digital Imaging 2018: Radiology Information Systems and PACS

This one day conference will examine how to work with digital imaging, radiology information systems and PACS to deliver the national ambition of a paperless and filmless NHS, improving imaging services and timeliness.

 

The conference will address national developments, new models of radiology care including an update from the radiology vanguard site which emphasizes a move towards a collaborative clinical network approach, getting the most out of RIS and PACs through effective workflow and systems design, and how to integrate them with other Trust systems and Electronic Patient Records.

 

There will be a focus on improving the clinical end user experience, interoperability standards, sharing radiology images across organisations, information governance, the role of specialty systems, and the role of information systems in moving towards a 7 day service and delivering real time bedside imaging to improve patient care.
