2017 Membership Survey Results

In the latter part of last year we launched our 2017 Membership Survey.  We asked the membership questions ranging from where they first heard of us to what they thought of the new website.

Overall the results were very encouraging and we are lucky to have such an engaged and enthusiastic bunch of members!  In fact the majority first heard about the IRMS from a colleague and the majority joined for the fantastic networking opportunities that the IRMS provides alongside access to the Bulletin.

1 in 3 said they felt the IRMS was ‘excellent value for money’ with 43% in fact paying for membership out of their own pocket.

We than asked if the members would be willing to pay a little more for IRMS membership to allow is to further improve the benefits we offer.  Overall the respondents agreed that a slight increase would need to be directly linked to practical day-to-day benefits including tools and training, and increased activity including events.

As we gallop towards our 2018 IRMS Conference we asked how many of our respondents had attended the IRMS conference before. 23% attend every year and those that are not able to attend stated that it was mostly due to budget restraints.

As previously mentioned the networking opportunities are one of the major benefits our members enjoy with 1 in 3 regularly attending IRMS group events and a further 1 in 3 attending a few times.

Another member benefit was access to the Bulletin with 87% reading the latest edition, mostly when they manage to catch a little free time – with a cup of tea, or is that just me?  43% are happy to enjoy the hardcopy version with a very future facing 19% saying that they would be happy with an electronic only version.

Sadly two thirds of the respondents have not taken advantage of the training discounts we offer.  We have already taken action to improve the visibility and range of discounts available. Please keep an eye on the website and OTR for details of current discounts available.

IRMS Accreditation would appear to be on a lot of peoples ‘To Do Lists’ with 60% falling into the intending to and would like to apply categories.  17% are already Accredited members – with this number rising rapidly after Conference in May.

98% of respondents have visited our re-designed website with 3 out of 5 have used the new profile and social features on the IRMS website. In fact 75% gave the website a 4 or 5 star rating!

Overall 80% of respondents are very or fairly satisfied with their membership.
