A letter to the Editor of the Daily Telegraph, published on Friday, 24th July 2020
The IRMS has, together with the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) and the Archives and Records Association (ARA), written a statement emphasising the importance of capturing digital records in the forthcoming Covid-19 inquiry. We have a duty to document this crisis to demonstrate national and global transparency and accountability in dealing with the pandemic. This challenge needs to be tackled by every sector involved and supported by senior leadership. Sufficient resources are imperative in order to transform digital recordkeeping practices and to ensure these critical at-risk records are preserved as evidence for future generations.
With a bi-monthly magazine, annual conference, accreditation possibilities and a competitively priced annual membership, there really is no reason why you shouldn't join this fantastic society!
