The IRMS’s next roundtable is on Thursday, October 29 from 2:00 - 3:30pm. We will be looking at those issues our community has with email management and we couldn’t be happier to be joined by James Lappin and Susan Lamb!
This chat will be on Teams and you can register here:
Let's talk about the following: -Can emails be managed as records? -Do emails and their attachments need to be moved elsewhere to be retained? -Are there any third party tools that can help? -How can we reduce the number of emails we send and receive? -What approaches work best?
James has 25 years’ experience in records management as a practitioner, trainer, consultant, podcaster, commentator, researcher and cartoonist. He is co-founder of the IRMS podcast and is currently investigating archival policy towards email in a doctoral research project sponsored by The UK National Archives and based at Loughborough University’s Centre for Information Management.
Susan is the Group Records Manager at Shell International Ltd. A qualified solicitor, she currently leads the global information management compliance programme for the retention and disposal of all Shell Group information. Susan also leads the care and wellbeing programme for Group Legal and is the Shell Group records management SME ensuring governance, policy review, training, stakeholder engagement, communications and its supporting Group IT strategy.
