Last year, the IRMS formed a Customer Advisory Board (CAB) with Microsoft. This new board will provide the records management community with a direct relationship with the Microsoft 365 development and leadership teams, allowing us to influence the future direction of the platform's capabilities.
As part of this CAB, we set up a membership forum to engage with members of both the IRMS and the Archives and Records Association, who have drafted a survey to gauge the current usage of Microsoft 365's retention features; we want to understand the capabilities that the records management community would most like to see improved. We will present these findings (anonymised, of course!) to Microsoft during our Customer Advisory Board calls in an effort to prioritise the importance of specific enhancements within Microsoft 365's roadmap.
