Could someone you know be celebrating in May?Our prestigious industry awards recognise excellence in information management, and nominations are now open for 2024
Our highly sought-after awards are presented at a glittering ceremony following the Gala Dinner during the IRMS Conference, and reward best practice and excellence in the following categories: - Professional of the Year
- New Professional of the Year
- Team of the Year
- Supplier of the Year
- Innovation of the Year
- Bulletin Author of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement
It's not only the winners who are rewarded, though - we highlight and celebrate all the nominees. Nominations are open now, right through to the end of January 2024. But don't leave it till the last minute - if you know of an individual, team or organisation that has done something brilliant, tell us about it today! How to nominateYou must be an IRMS member to nominate someone for an award - but anyone can be nominated. To submit a nomination, follow these simple steps: Step 1. Make sure that who you are nominating is happy to be nominated. Some people don't like the attention (and that is absolutely fine!), so please ensure you have spoken to them before you continue. You also need to find someone to support your nomination (a seconder), who also must be an IRMS member. If you can't find a seconder who is a member, you can ask for a member of the IRMS Executive to support the nomination. Step 2. Write a nomination statement of 600-800 words, ideally in a Word document, with an explanation and evidence to support your nomination. Also ask your seconder to write a short statement of 40-50 words to be added to your nomination statement. Step 3. Send the below information by email to awards@irms.org.uk before the deadline of 31 January 2024. DO NOT SEND TO MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE. Your nomination must include:
- the name of the person, team or organisation you are nominating (and ideally contact details for them)
- the role/s and organisation (if applicable) of the nominee/s
- which award you are nominating them for
- the email contact details of the nominee/s
- your name and organisation
- your nomination statement (see Step 2)
- the seconder's statement, along with their name and organisation
If you need help or inspiration, you can find guidance on our awards criteria page as well as lists of past winners. Step 4. Wait to hear from the Awards Panel after the closing date for nominations. They may also be in touch to ask for some more information or any clarifications. Please note: if any form of cheating, bribery or harassment of the awards panel members or fraudulent statements on a nomination is found on the application or as part of the public vote the Awards Panel reserves the right to void any such nomination and refer the matter to the IRMS Executive where further action may be taken. The IRMS is committed to fairness and transparency so any such behaviour will not be tolerated. What happens nextOnce the deadline for nominations has passed, the Awards Panel will ensure that each nomination is valid, then a shortlist for most of the awards will be put to a vote by IRMS members, with the others decided by the Panel. All finalists are invited to attend our Awards Gala Dinner at the IRMS Conference in May. For more information, go to www.irms.org.uk/awards.
