The Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) recognised excellence in the field of information management at the 2020 IRMS Industry Awards. This year's awards ceremony took place online last Monday and it was a ceremony to be remembered! The winners of the IRMS 2020 Awards are: - Professional of the Year - Graham Snow
- Alison North Award for New Professionals - split between Glenn Atkins, Anne Nagley, Leanne Robertson, Ashley Williams
- Team of the Year - the IG Team at Historic Environment Scotland
- Supplier of the Year - Oyster IMS
- Innovation of the Year - Leadership Through Data
- Bulletin Author of the Year - Robert Bath
- IRMS Special Recognition - Neil Reeves and Scott Sammons
The IRMS has also awarded six prestigious Fellowships to Melody Allsebrook, Andrew Harvey, Jane Kennedy, Emily Overton, Sarah Norman, and David Reeve. IRMS Fellowships are bestowed upon IRMS members with more than 10 years’ experience in the sector and who have, in the opinion of their peers, attained appropriate eminence, authority or seniority in the field. Finally we awarded the IRMS Lifetime Achievement Award to Barry Moult in recognition of what he has done and continues to do within the information and records management profession. IRMS Chair, Reynold Leming, co-hosted the evening with our Chair Emeritus, Scott Sammons, and had the following to say: "Technical glitches were only minor, and it was well attended and thoroughly enjoyable evening. From what I could see everyone looked very glamorous and it is always wonderful to have an excuse to dress up in these strange times. I even had my disco lights on!"
